Pernille Sørlie

For me, art is much more than aesthetics. Art is about reflection, feelings and about expressing themes in a different way than with words.

The materials I use are recycled. The bed sheets, curtains, tablecloths and clothes used as materials carry with them traces of use, of human presence. The materials become a metaphor for life experiences, interpersonal relationships and private feelings.

Through my work, I aim to create an experience, to give emotion a visual aspect and to create a personal encounter with my dystopian universe.
